Dual horns

Tonight while hooking up some electrical stuff up front I found another horn wire. Same color wire and same connector. Apparently the festiva is wired for 2 horns. Hooked up my meter and pressed the horn button and it has power. I was coiled up and taped to the harness near the left front headlight.
I'll be picking up another horn at the yard and then I'll have dual horns. Nice to find little things like this.

does it run off the same relay as the other horn, or are they compleatly seperate? I'll hafta look in mine, this could be interesting...

I'm going to get a horn from a semi and wire it so I can choose from the Festiva horn or the semi. Will command respect on the freeway...

Tim- thats exactly what i want to do, but so far as i can figure you'd hafta put in a second relay and all... still i may do it.

i glanced this morning and didn't find the extra horn wires... i'll hafta look closer sometime.

Same relay. The LX and GL Festivas had a dual-tone horn. If you pick up a second horn from a JY, make sure you get one that is different from what you have (for the dual effect).

I took the horn out of the front of mine below headlight and behind RH signal light. Horn sounds real bad with only one horn remaining on RH inner fender. I will hook up the second hoping it sounds better ? I thought someone added the Fender horn because the one under the headlight quit working or something? Yah , this is neat info !!

I have a dual trumpet, stainless steel air horn on my hood... wired underneath the hood. I get the respect I need.

has anyone ever put in a 5 horn Dixie horn in their festiva? a friend of mine said I could have his whole system, compressor and all for $20, and man that thing is loud... I also thought about a train horn from Jcwhitney? any thoughts there?

I do believe I seen one painted like the general Lee that had the Dixie horn in it, I'm a southern boy so naturally I thought it was boss :twisted:.
