i think the easiest and most cost effective way of making a housing for those lights would be to make a ''one-off'' of fiberglass. A one-off is when you dont make a mould and you essentially just copy the top of the part...in this case the taillight.

I plan on making a one-off of my own fms-like hood (maybe a few variations to keep it original)

^ i prob wont use fiberglass but instead ill use a flat peice ov black acrylic for the inner part which ill mount the actual light housing to and then use a pair of stock tail lights and modify them by taking off the lens and replace them with bent clear lexan.

Another idea would be to sheet metal it to give it a solid look.

bobby, not too familiar with lexan moulding....how do you heat it to get the shape you want? a torch? wont that burn it or make it cloudy looking? Just asking because I dont know

they make plastic benders, they look similar to metal breaks but have a heating element in them. what you want to do to avoid the stretching, clouding and spider cracks is only bend it alittle at a time like an 1/8" or a 1/16" (4 or 5 degrees at a time) till you get your targeted bend. in this case its going to have to be close to a 90 deg which is going to be a challenge. ive also used a heat gun and the corner of a table, the same concept applies just alittle at a time dont rush it.

ive thought about trying a similar thing for a round headlight conversion where there are two lights one big one small - Oo - like that high beam low beam or dual beam and drive lamp. this summer will be when i get into that prob.

I often wondered if a ranger headlamp would fit in there or not. looks very close and has the shape like the kia pride lights. so you may need a kia grill.???

Awesome. Round lights, square housings, and a more aggressive look. I'm going to use a set of aftermarket Ranger projector headlights, replace the turn signals up front with same-sized fog lights, and add turn signal function to the corner markers.
