I don't have the interior finished yet. Hopefully by the middle of April. I'll try to get some photos for you. I went with black carpet. They leave the carpet so that you can trim the sides for better fit. Over all I'm happy with it. The total shipped with the discount code I found was $157 plus change. It was the cheapest I found and was reccommended by a co-worker who is restoring an Acura.

"Why not choose "Power Pumpkin" or "Flaming Fuchsia" for your Ford Festiva? Yeeee-ouch!"

Why not just choose plain old black like I did? That way the dirt marks don't show.

On stockinteriors.com it says "We now offer Embroidered Logos for your Ford Festiva floor mats!".

I will ask them if they can duplicate the Japanese logo.
      E-mail sent. Will post response.

Thatswho I got mine from. Just stock grey, but I went with the ones with the heavy underlayer. Great fit ,just a little trimming .

For myself, I want black mats with the Festiva logo in dark grey and with black binding sewn on with a double row of red thread to match my red stitched Tiburon seats. I believe light grey would be too contrasty. Also red binding would look a little too corny.

If they won't do the logo file conversion from (adobe illustrator) to whatever stitching format their sewing machines take, I know someone who will generate the format for me. I could make embroidered shirts and hats with that format, but I won't. I am not licenced by Ford, as they are.

If they won't sew the Festiva logo and say they only sew on six inch Ford logos, I will tell them good bye. The floor mat logo must be exactly the same as the badge on the back of the car. I will keep everyone updated as soon as I hear back from them.

Do you think he didn't understand the question or doesn't need my business? I'm waiting for a response from the Floor mat guys in Mesa, Arizona now.

                Q. Can you reproduce these mats?

                A. Thank you for your email and your interest in AutoSport. While we do not sell original equipment mats we should have a variety of mats available for your vehicle. Please provide us with the model year of the Festiva you are referring to and we can look up what options we have available.

                  Great news everyone!
I found a company to make a Festiva floor mat!
I will have a pair sewn up to show everyone.
I will scan the Festiva emblem on my new scanner and then have it vectorized, to forward to them.

                  ---------------------------------------------

We can make your mats for the 1988 Ford Festiva, with your custom embroidered logo.
The logo costs are $25/one-time set-up fee and $27.50 per sewout of the logo on the mats.
Your mats would vary in price, depending on the material from $68((Good)22oz material) to $114.76 ((Best)42oz Berber) for the 2pc sets. That price is for the material and edging, then you would add the logo charges and the shipping ($15-$18 ) to get your complete total.
Let us know how you want to proceed and we will help you get your custom floormats.
                  Thanks,

We received both of your emails.
In answer to your questions, lighter weight carpet does not create a better logo and will not have the durablility of higher grade carpet.
We would suggest either the 28oz or 42oz for best results.
As stated before, you can send the logo in png, jpg, gif format.
Yes, we have the template for the 1988 Ford Festiva.
Our binding is stitched serged yarn, so it is not hot melt glued.
We are sorry for your disappointment about not offering double stitching.
From the link you provided, that stitching does not look as professional or high quality as our serged edging. It looks like it is a vinyl edging, which is not as durable.
Our website is not designed for smartphone or tablet.
Also we do not currently have any custom logos on our website, as most of them that we create are custom and the customer does not want them shown.
Let me know how you want to proceed.
                    __________________________________________________ __________

It looks like they have only six colors to choose from in the 28 oz.
Personally, I think color is more important than durabilty. I just want the mat to protect my new carpeting. The 22 oz. carpet has sixteen colors to choose from.
I am going to ask him to send me a few small samples of both carpet and thread.

How about everyone else with grey carpeting? Would you want the mats to be the same color, or a little darker? Would you want the binding to be lighter or darker?
Would you want the logo to be about the same darkness as in this picture?

For myself, I am going to go with 22 oz, black with black binding and a dark grey (almost black) logo. No red stitching.

He will protect our custom Festiva logo.

That's $140 per pair of mats, emroidered and shipped.

I almost always spend my money on basics and then performance and handling upgrades, but I might buy one set of mats for Luxstiva. Since her dash mat already says "Luxstiva" I could get "Festiva" floor mats I suppose!

I was going to go for medium grey or charcoal floor mats with hot pink serging and lettering.

                        Eric,

I would like to get a few very small samples from you. Could you please send me a very small sample of your gray, charcoal and black edging, + a small piece of 22 oz. black with a mini patch of charcoal embroidery (that is the same color as your charcoal edging) in the middle + a small piece of 22 oz. gray that is a shade darker than your gray edging with a small mini patch of gray embroidery (that is the same color as your gray edging) in the middle?

Festivas came with either gray or tan carpeting from 1988-1993. The mat pattern will fit all of those years, as there was no change to the floor pan. I do have to ask again. The pattern you have is for a Ford Festiva and not a Ford Fiesta? Correct?
                        ___________________________________________

I would be willing to send out any samples he sends me to any other member who also wishes to take a look before ordering. Maybe we could all order mats at the same time, so that we could get a nice discount?

I have heard no response from the FloorMatGuys since the 20th. If they send samples, I will post pictures.

Ha! You DO have to ask that again, don't you? So many have made "that mistake."

We'd get our mats and they'd say "FIESTA." Then we'd all have to get some local seamstress to sew in "THIS CAR IS NOT A..." right over it!

I have to ask because of their discaimers:

A custom-fit floor mat has been designed to fit specifically and perfectly to your vehicle's floor contour and specifications. They may or may not be identical to the OEM mats.

Because Floor Mat Guys floor mats are custom-made to your specifications, we do not offer refunds. We simply cannot resale them. If you have a concern about our products then just email us and let us know the problem. We will try to assist you as quickly and as helpfully as we can. If we determine that your floor mats need to be returned we will assign you a R/A (Return Authorization) number and a mailing address. NO RETURNS WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT AN R/A NUMBER.
                            __________________________________________________ ____

I have learned to make sure all purchase order details and engineering specs are clearly defined as well as all terms and conditions. I am not a purchasing agent, but I know how to write a purchase order with "teeth". I also know how to write "For terms and condition see other side". The terms and conditions fill the other side completely in a very small halftone font.

Finally. They sent me a lot of stuff I never asked for and not some stuff I asked for! I'm still going to go with the 22oz. because it's thin and least expensive.

Your sample request has been processed and shipped to you. We have included samples of all our material in the 22oz, 28oz, 28oz StainResist, and 42oz Berber. The large 42oz Berber samples will show you our serged edging material and quality.
I will find some embroidery samples that I can send you pictures of how they look.

So are you contemplating an order in gray only???

I'm installing brand new carpet in the July timeframe but it will be a shade of brown/tan.

Definitely interested if I can order one in some sort of brown. What I'd REALLY love to have is a mat with a plastic heelpad AND plastic (or metal) 'twist clips' on the floor mat corners that clip into receptacles on the actual carpet floor in order to hold the floor mat in place. That would be awesome. My VW Beetle is like that.

BTW, how will they "protect" the Festiva logo?

Pls advise and post pix when you can...
