  • clean paint- white residue

My paint has a white power on it, like the stuff you get from calcium in your water system, I can get it off with my fingernail, but that is not reall the best way to get it off, anyone have any ideas on how to clean it?

Through wash, clay bar, buff/polish, wax should take care of it.

Goo gone might work. I'm not sure how abrasive it is on paint though.

I've seen this method in action!
Never done it myself, but the results of kumalaba on his 323 wagoon were amazing.
You couldn't lean against the car without sliping off it!
          Highly recommended!

          You likely have oxidized paint.

Ive seen oxidized paint come back to life from buffing and polishing. Im sure it would work for your situation. Just take a high speed buffer with a foam or fine whool pad and use mothers buffing compound. Wash the car, then go back over it with mothers polishing compound. Wax it and you should be good. If all else fails....wetsand. Then do what I just said lol

My truck had oxidized paint on it. Its red and looked very chalky. Took Meguair's Polish compound to it with a buffer and it never looked better. The only thing is that the compound doesn't have a wax in it, so after about a week it went back to the way it was lol. Haven't done it again because of "winter" , but I will again and apply a wax afterwards and hope it works.
