  • back yard painting

    my first attempt at painting, changing from aqua to surf blue front fender & eyebrow. supplies ran about 35.00 b/c they wanted 245.00 @ body shop to paint the fender:cry_smile:

    what kind of paint are you using?
    enamel? urethane? rattle can?

      rattlecan by microinish, acrylic urethane from automotivetouchup.com mine is ford m4 surf blue, i put 4 coats on it from a 12oz can & there is still some left over for touch ups,also i just put 3 coats of clear on it & will wet sand with 1500 after i let the clear dry for 3 days. it should look good from 20 feet away. or at least better than the aqua it was.

                  use 1500 dry then 3000 wet than buff, glaze, wax, an polish.... that thing will shine like no ones bizzz...

                            actually to make the rest of the car that shiny too you could use the 3000 wet and same process to make it all shine... or.... just buff glaze an polish to get minor swirl marks an scratchs out of you paint.. the whole thing will shine like no ones biz lol
