  • dusJa body kits

This summer I'll be spending a while modeling and building body kits. As many of you know, I've got a keen eye for what might be close enough to work. I've found that a lot of the Ford/Mazda trucks & SUV's have similar shapes to the Festiva, so there may be some cues from them, but I've been looking at the Mustang for inspiration as well.

My personal interest is to build this kit

    The Rieger 4 Festiva

Back to the Mustang. I want a GT and Saleen kit.

I think you should make the wholes smaller. More like m3 style. Reminded me off this look.

Looks like the form will cost around $250 before fiberglass. I also plan to see what kinds of material I can use aside from fiberglass (like CF) if the price is right. Here's hoping.

Hook it up bro! Those here who will buy them could pitch in with a down payment for a pre order and that would allow you to at least get the mold and supplies
-90 festiva - bp swap "relentless" (thanks matt) aspire swap, pacesetter, underdrive pulley
-90 festiva - surf blue (undetermined destiny) wanna keep but wifey says noooooooo

I appreciate it, but I don't want to be locked into any financial agreements with anyone in case things don't work out on an item-per-item basis. Very much like Junspeed and Ernst, (That sounds like a morning radio show on SiriusXM! "All Festiva all morning with Junspeed and Ernst!" ) I want to have the item made before we sell it. I'll do ok to get things going. My partner-in-crime Bebandit will be right there with me on this.

BTW, these kits will be stamped with both the dusJa and Area Festy 1 logos. There may even be window vinyls to come with them, depending.

I'll let you know as soon as we get some real numbers. I want these kits to go into at least limited production.

based on what i know, carbon is just a skin, a cloth mounted on the fiber shell(the finished product) or the fiberglass. its aesthetic, yes at the same time functional making the product more durable. its just that its not cheap when it needs repair. its a lot of process.

I think the kits should be era specific...the festy/foxbody lines flow alot smoother together than newer car bumpers.

Ernst, is it due to the pattern, or the hardness of the material when it's complete?

I agree with that about 90%. That's why I like the GT kit. It looks as though it'd work well with the Festiva.

The carbon fiber acts like an armor of the fiberglass. It can't be teared by bare hands but can be cut by a scissor. The weight of your products depends on how you made the shell(fiberglass).
