Hi, this thread will show how I mounted my spoiler(s). It will be updated from time to time as soon as I've come up with improvements on mounting and handling these spoilers. FAQ will be added as well.
I'll start with upper spoiler no. 1, I installed mine using 2 screws only. You only need to drill 3 holes, 2 for the screws and 1 for the brake light wire. The lower and side portions will be held by double adhesive tapes, will serve as gasket to fill the gaps as well. BTW this spoiler is the fiber version based from the rubber spoiler. It was created for innovation, to add the led brake light which is an additional safety feature when driving, your Festiva will be more visible to other motorists specially during night time.
I used masking tape to align and position the upper spoiler before drilling the holes. The spoiler is drilled with small holes on the upper mounting portion. I used a round file to make the holes bigger for easy alignment when the screws are mounted already. You can drill the holes on the hatch once the spoiler is aligned and while it's held by the masking tape. Otherwise, use a nail to punch a dimple on the hatch then drill.
More masking tape should be used, enough so the spoiler won't drop.
Here's the fit after drilling the holes, mounting the screws, and final alignment. I'm planning to paint it red and fill the side mounting holes. Fiber glass can be easily sanded and painted to match the exterior paint.
Spoiler will be finished, painted, and the light should be functional on the next post.
