  • grey bumpers vs painted bumpers

I recently bought a red Festiva GL sport with painted bumpers. The back bumper has a nasty spot in it and needs replacing. I can get a grey bumper at a local bone yard but is there any difference in the bumpers. Will all years fit any year Festiva? Is all I have to do is add red paint and go or is there a catch? Thanks for any help.

Yeah that would prolly work...& make sure you get the "bumper coat" paint. Comes in assorted colors.

you can use regular paint, as long as you do a basecoat of bulldog adhesion promoter. then you'll actually be able to use the right color lol.

what about the compatibility, can I use any year bumper with not having to modify the fit?

I don't think there was ever any change in front or rear bumper fit for any year Festiva. If there was, I've never heard about it.

Thanks Karl. I wish I could find a red back bumper , that way I wouldn't have to paint it right away but I guess that's not likely.

              are you coming to Ohiostiva?
if you are, i could bring my red bumper from my parts car
it has a horizontal scratch in it

              but otherwise OK

there is a texture difference between the painted bumper and the non-painted bumpers

I cant make ohiostiva because my wife has a health problem right now. I would love that bumper though for sure. I need that back window wiper arm too. That bumper would square me away. Would you consider shipping it?

sorry shipping is out of the question for now

I've researched it and do not have the time to do any shipping

i had already announced that i was parting this car out , and as far as the rear deck lid is concerned--- i will be selling it whole w/ washer pump

If my wife is better by the 20th and I could sneak away, what would you want for the bumper at Ohiostiva?
