Is it just me or do most festivas have a giant rust hole right where the trany cross member mounts up front. This was a pain to cut out because none of the body clips would come out and ended up cut that a little(due to lack of necessary tools).

sadly enough it is extremely common in the upper states... i jsut had to redo my crossmember stuff because my BP ripped the front of the crossmember right out of the mounting spot... kinda sucky... but anywho, i welded a piece of 2.5x2.5" angle iron in the location and rebuilt both my front and rear mounts so i dont even have a crossmember anymore! w00t for redneck engineering!

mines not rusted out, but one of the nuts inside spun, so whenever i go to drop the crossmember, i have to swing it out of the way, but ill be fixin that soon

several festivas i've seen have rust spots right under the key hole for the back hatch.

Had the infamous rust hole as well.

My car came from Michigan too!

I welded a piece of iron over the tongue and onto a non-rusted part of the crossmember.
