  • Converting manual seat belt seats to automatic seats

I've got some decent shape seats from a manual seat belt car I'd like to put into my dad's car with automatic seat belt seats.

Any clue how to remove the rail from the bottom? Is drilling out that rivot, grinding the weld, and rewelding the only way?

The sliding rails on the bottom of the seats are different. One hole doesn't line up correctly. The mounting brackets or seat sliders or I'm not sure what they're called.

if it is not lining up,

you have to line the tracks up manually and individually
by pulling on the wire that goes side to side
and doing that in the car

mine bolted in without a problem
you just have to remove the center parking brake console
and un-bolt the automatic seat belt buckle latches
and either modify their location or discard and use the 1988-1989 latches

Our plan is just to remove the brackets and swap them between the two seats.

We think we're just going to cut off the one part that is different and then weld on the right one.
