Holy cow! You have no parts to go from or pictures of the original setup? The signal lights 'fly' (solely attached to the bumper skin) within the styrofoam of the OEM bumper so if you have a blank canvas (aftermarket or adapted bumper with no cut-outs) as long as the existing wires reach you can locate the lights almost anywhere you want. The originals are recessed in the bumper. Doubt you can engineer that.
Lamp covers (ie lens) do come off but Junspeed, for one, sells them as a complete package with bases included. If no one comes to your rescue with dimensions I do have ducked away some brand new Festy signal lights that I can unearth in order to measure up for you.
I do have all the stock stuff. In fact, you can see the edge of my stock front bumper in the left edge of the pic. But it's all out of town, and I can't justify that kind of drive just to stick a measuring tape on a signal lens.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the marker lights are the same as the Mazda 2200 side marker lights?
Yep, same part #.
But as for the reason I needed the measurements, a hunch I had just turned into a neat discovery. The standard 2x6 oval grommet mount truck light will *just* fit into the front signal hole in the Festy front bumper, provided you shave the tabs off the side of the light.
This means a few things. First of all, the Grote 52183 (the light in the picture) costs about $6 at a good truck parts place, and that's for the whole shebang, it's a sealed unit with a dual filament bulb. So if you need new signal lenses that certainly beats paying out the wazoo for NOS lenses. Plus one could wire up the second filament as a marker light (or DRL in Canada) or hook them both up to the signal lead for super bright signals.
The second usable application for this is that it would make for a super slick LED conversion. All of the companies making these lights have ordinary amber LED versions, but by far the coolest is the Truck-Lite 60280Y. It's a sequential arrow signal light, and it doesn't need a control box like the universal sequential kits- just an ordinary LED flasher and it's good to go.
Whether I can use this new info myself is up in the air- the unmodified light doesn't quite fit in my new Stylus bumper, but I would LOVE to see someone do this on a Festy bumper.
PS someone please do this mod so I know I didn't just waste $6 on a light to confirm my theory.
