This is the one I have in my car. Highly recommended. Just be prepared to wait a few weeks to receive it. http://dx.com/p/31-44mm-adjustable-4...01374?item=147

Both door switches and the one mounting hole with the gold colored metal around it provide the ground needed for it to work.
Sounds like the mounting hole one isn't getting a good ground.
I ended up having to pull both door switches and just give them a good cleaning up, mine now works perfect.

I bought mine from Auto Zone. It goes for about $17, but you can have it now. I suggest hardwiring the panel as it is incredibly sensitive, and anything that would cause it to trip aside from the switches could short it out.

I finally got around to installing the escort light. It doesn't work. Fuse is good and gets a bit of spark when installing, so I know there's flow in the box. Checked the door jam trips, they are good. Bulbs are good. Tested with a 9v. Is there any other wiring from the fuse box to the light? or is that a direct link? I've done a couple searches for schematics etc and did not come up with any good results. If there is a wiring diagram somewhere, please link it. Thanks.

                Try switchin' the wires.

Make sure it's screwed into the roof metal, that's the ground for the circuit
