  • Would a Focus Console work in a Festy?

Was at PAP today getting Aspire HLA's for my wife's Festy and got to looking for consoles.

Although I'm not big on the triangular shifter hole, it looked like it might work.

Well, I'm thinking of just making a console out of fiberglass with an armrest that flips up. I'll cover it in vinyl and it'll replace the bucket below the ashtray, yet still use the bracket. I'll get an insert out of a Taurus or something. The armrest has to flip up so I can buckle the seatbelts, I'll weld up a bracket for it and the console rear. I've got to make at least two and maybe 3 so I'll probably make a mold.

Use a Escort or Protege console, both fit with little mods. & very little time or hassel.
If it don't fit, use a bigger hammer!

Well where is the fun in that?

I've looked at some pics of the Escort console, are there any good pics that make it look like it's meant to be there? Most of the console pics I've seen looked hacked, maybe I'm just pickier.

Look in my Album "'Tiva After", in my Public Profile for several pics of the '94Protege console. Only thing you need extra is the center bracket where the 2 peices go togeather, & the spacer between the cupholder & the Festy ashtray. Both can be fabed.

That is the cleanest install I saw, but no armrest. Was there a Protege with an armrest?

Armrest? What are you doing for the seatbelts?
