  • Wanted: opinions on paint/ interior...

OK, I'd like some opinions... I'm doing a low-budget paint job on Skeeter b/c the paint was getting bad, it needed body work in a few places, and just because i want to be able to say i did it myself 8)
Home depot had a sale on paint: $17 for a gallon of the rustolium stuff used in the "$50 paint job"... so for around $30 i got all my suplies. the majority of the car will be a "sky blue" color, prety close to stock. from the lil plastic side-things down, including bumpers, i'm going to do black.
so heres what i want your opinions on:
    1) should i paint the mirors (dual, power) body colored, or leave black?
    2) how bout the door handles?
    3) anything else i should/shouldn't paint?
i'm planing on masking off the windshieild/rear window and removing the quarter pannel windows... strip the interior enough to paint all visible parts. should i mask the black rain-gutter things on top of the car or just paint them body-collored?

as far as interior, while i have some of it out i'm wondering of theres anything i should do? if the outside of the car is going to look nice i'd like the inside too look a lil better, but nothing too exotic here.. just taking your opinions

    thanks guys!!

I painted the rain gutters on mine... it looked good until I cut the roof off and now it doesn't matter anymore. The door handles I would definitely not paint because they are such a highly handled part that they will probably start flaking eventually. As for the mirrors, I would paint them in the same black you are using for the bottom and bumper rather than leave them, just to freshen them up and ensure the color matched... but thats just my opinion, and like my ex-gf used to tell me, "your opinions are fine, but they are usually wrong"
    No festiva for me ATM...
