  • Check out these power mirrors...

I got them for $5.95 each at the local Pull-A-Part yard I'm giving ya'll three guesses as to what they came off of... the car is not hard to find at all... first, three hints...

    1. They have been asked about before on this site, as to whether they are bolt ins... the resounding answer has been "NO!!!"... and I agree... you gotta chop about 1/2" off the bottom and shave the front just a hair before you can mount them to the original bottom two festiva bolt holes, then if you want you can drill the top bolt hole cause its off by 1/4"... I didn't.

    2. Here are some pictures...

    3. This console with cupholders and nice looking shift boot came from the same car as the mirrors and is in the process of being modded to fit with the stock center glove boxish thing in place (although you can bolt it right up without the box by drilling two holes)

I haven't wired them up yet, but the wiring on the mirrors actually matches the colors to the wires on the switch I pulled with them, so I don't think it will be too much trouble. Lemme know what you think and what car you think I found them on.
    No festiva for me ATM...

Nope, not the 200sx, but if anyone knows of one for sale, lemme know... 323/Protege is getting closer, but not quite there yet... Come on guys, with as many BP swaps as we have running around this place, someone should recognize these parts... I hope that clue gives it away, lol... only one more guess!

Matt wins... for two reasons actually... first, cause he did a great write on wiring up the BP swap, which I am now only two fuel lines and a battery relocation away from finishing. And yes the mirrors are from an escort... and they bolt right up once you chop off the bottom. And they are easy easy easy to find. I got mine off a '95 LX, but all the '91 to '96 two doors are the same... I think the four doors may be different, but I'm not sure. The console bolted up too, but I started cutting on it cause I'm still not ready to part with my little box thingy I've grown so attatched too. Makes me wonder what else will go from Escort to Festiva without too much hassle... guess I better head back to the pull-a-part

By the way the 323 power mirrors will also mount up you only have to drill the allignment hole. Also remember to get the secondary wires from behind the door panel if your car didn't come with power mirrors. These wires go from the mirror to the door wiring harness.

I payed $6.73 at the pull-a-part. I have no clue what a typical junkyard would want though (at this place you can go pull any v8 motor you want and pay only $130!). If ya can't find one I'll pick one up for you next time I'm down there and sell it to ya for $6.73 plus shipping.

damn i should have read this thread sooner... i knew it was an escort GT, i have one sitting in my driveway and drive it to work 3 days a week... the cupholders kind of suck in the escort just because they dont reall have enough clearance for anything taller than a 12oz can, there kind of tucked in a bit.... but it looks right at home in a festy.
