Well, I got frustrated with the motor today so I went back to playing with the mirrors some more. Turns out the door wiring for the escort mirrors plugs directly into the festiva door harness! Now all I have to do is find the plug in the dash where the switch plugs in, although I will probably have to splice the switch. Can anyone with power mirrors give me a clue as to where the plug is and what it looks like? Thanks
It will be to the left of the steering column behind the row oft black blank spots for switches in the dash should be the one all the way to the left the biggest one if I remember right
I want to say they were from an '88 323. How I found out they would work was by taking them off the 323 @ pull-a-part and took them over to a Festiva to check fitment. I'll be back out there this weekend and I'll check a few different mirrors and let you know what will work.

and '88 Tracer will work directly, even the switch and everything is a direct switchover....I never performed this switch, but while working on one of my festy's I happened to have this as my daily driver...
yeah, I found that the escort ones could work by test fitting at the pull-a-part too. Thats about the only thing the one festiva they had was good for. Everything else was broken on it except for the orange backlit speedo cluster (w/o tach unfortunately). I'm gonna try the 323 switch next time I'm there, cause it looks the same as a festiva switch someone is selling on ebay, and I think it looks cooler than the escort switch anyway.
well the 323 switch doesn't plug up. I spliced in the Escort switch today, and I can draw up a diagram of what color wires go together if anyone is interested. The mirrors work, all it took was a little trial and error to figure out which wires to connect.
was that rubber shift boot on the escort too? and did you say that console will bolt on the 'stiva? i have no qualms about that box thing because, well, I AIN'T GOT ONE!

yeah, the shift boot and knob are part of the escort. And yeah the console will bolt up. you just have to redrill two mounting holes in the front of the console, or you can't shift into 1st, 3rd or 5th... lol... the holes are too far forward, which places the console too far back. I'll post a pic of the other escort console I picked up for todd00 as soon as I find my camera cord, but right now all pics are stuck in the camera . My console is cut up a bit already cause I didn't think to take pics before I mutilated it.
how does it work with the parking brake handle? does it fit in there? i think that looks really cool, but wish i could get a 4spd shift knob like that...
or i could do a tranny swap

i havent bolted mine down yet. but what i did was took out the boxy storage bin, and then put the console in, then slide the boxy thing over it, so its sitting up more tilted, and i like that better as stuff i pitch in there wont come flying back out. i lose the place for the pop cans but thats ok as they arent deep enough for a big gulp anyway...haha. im going to bolt the boxy thing on to the escort console. no its not in the way of the e-brake at all. and shifts fine.
ill take a pic if anyone wants to see it. no big marvel, but worked for me without me having to cut it. and i dont trust myself with a saw
thanks htchbck, your money should be on the way tomorrow also.
