Righty tighty, lefty loosy. Just turn it hard, mine was on very tight.

I sat there for like 20 minute loosening it and i still couldn't See the threads at the bottom. well thanks for the help.. no i really feel stupid

Try a large pair of pliers or vice grips to give you more leverage.

What I did on my last Festy was taking some cutters and cut the smooth plastic till I found the hard one and cut it too. I didn't want the old shift knob so I said what the hell?
