  • Interchangable rear wiper motors for ford festiva.

i'm curious to know if anyone has actually fitted a newer type rear wiper motor as a replacement for the older style motor and i'm curious to know if they are adjustable in their ARCH as i have noticed looking around that there are a lot of cars that have this very short looking rear wiper that is universal to many newer cars.

In other words, i'm having trouble getting hold of an escort motor to do cog swapover and was hoping there is a motor we can just simply plug n play or if someone has been sucessful with another motor at all.

    Thanks in advance.
Ford Festiva 1991 WA Model (5 Door)
Nicknamed the car 'The Chiva' (Chilli Festiva)

The large interior mounting hole for the Festiva rear wiper motor requires the exact four mounting tabs for the AKZO motor. You will have to do a search regarding other motors that will interchange into the Festiva rear wiper motor housing to replace burned out components. The main problem is that the Festiva wiper mounting shaft is also longer than the Escort as well as other cars. My wiper motor was fried internally (probably from jamming mid cycle). Its now working fine after the transplant operation.
