        as promised

Okay so here we go as promised. i ordered these clear corners from junspeed upon arrival i realized they had the bump's which i had no idea they would of (my fault for not doing my research!!!!!). so i figured no big deal lol! i would just figure out how to make the best of it since i didnt want the amber section to be there mainly because i am going for the all clear look.
        you will need
-phillips and a flat head screw driver
-an oven that can reach 180 degrees
-an oven mit to set the lenses on
Begin by removing the two silver headed bolts that hold the lens to the housing (here i also removed the the zinc coated bracket, not really necessary i just figured it would get in the way.)

Set your oven to 180 degrees and let it completely preheat. (heres where i goofed up and i apologize. while i was reading through threads how to split metal housing headlights with glass lenses people said about 325 for 6 minutes or so, well then i found a thread on how to split plastic lenses, which these are all plastic, and it said 180 for about 6 minutes so i ran over and turned it down to 180 and waited a few minutes, it may have been a little over 180 when i put mine in but i dont think it will make a hug difference, i just figured id say this just incase someone may have an issue after reading this.)

Then place the lenses in the oven, as you can see i set them face down on an oven mit so prevent damage, and let them bake for about 6 minutes.

I pulled the lenses out by hand, they were hot but handle able for sure. this is important to not let them sit to cool to long because the glue will re harden quickly because the plastic dissipate the heat so quickly.

Look at the pic where where im using the screw driver to split them, this is about the only place i saw that you could get a good grip with out risking breaking the housing or lens.

Slowly twist the screw driver along that entire edge and they will come apart pretty easily, if there not you may need more heat. pop em back in for a few more minutes.

once the lens is off your almost done, the orange color is its own tiny lens right behind the bump on the clear lens. pry it off the same way you took the other lenses off, it uses the same glue that holds the light together.

i then just cleaned the old glue off with a razor blade then used CLEAR rtv silicone to re assemble them!

And thats all there is to it!

Do you think a heat gun will work just like with the head lights?
              Thanks .

i have never been a fan of the heat gun effect because i feel like its to much work trying to find the "sweet spot" to hold the gun so your not melting the light but still your heating it all the way through, but im sure it would work for this app very well!

I dunno how temperatures like that affect plastic in the long run but it sure is a neat solution you came up with. You must have practiced on something cheaper initially, no?

i have done this to a glass set of 20 dollar 6x7 ebay headlight housings before so yeah i suppose i have done it!! I initially learned the trick when my buddy separated his cavalier headlights and we painted them!

The only thing I dont like about those corners is that the plastic yellows over time.
