A flashing third brake light to get some extra attention.
It is best if you can use a colored bulb the same color as the lens, this helps to make the light appear a brighter shade.
A cheap 1156 LED bulb:
For some reason the wires were crossed to my third brake light at the plug (mine bulb socket was positive on the surround and not in the center of the socket for some reason, this would not allow the LED bulb to light). LED bulbs are sensitive to polarity, so I had to cross the GREEN and BLACK wires aft of the plug. Have someone step on the brake and use a test light to see if the center of the bulb socket is positive.

I soldered the strobe controller ground to an existing ground at my rear wiper motor. (those without rear wipers may have to get more creative)

All connections were then soldered and heat shrink wrapped, tied up and stored.

I will be doing this same mod to my wifes Escape in the near future. Later, I plan to install a brake light to the spoiler, so that the wiper down mod will not hide the brake light.
