  • LX interior pics

Started putting in my new carpet and LX interior today. Got the carpet from http://www.originalauto.com/. Went in ok, I've never installed new carpet so nothing to compare it to. Looks nice and is as good as the original.

    Here is the carpet

For those who plan to change from the automatic seatbelts to the 3 point seatbelts they are almost a bolt in. Had to make a little bracket to mount the seatbelt.

    Looking good!

I really like the effect the new carpet has - it has a clean, new car look about it.

My car has the LX interior even though it's an L (bought it like that) and in my opinion the seats look really good.

Good job Matt, your car is really gonna be one of the finest around here. I personnaly don't like those front seats because of the headrest but it's my opinion and it's your car, you can do whatever you want with it!
Is that a Festiva that just passed me?!?!?!

These seats are much nicer than the ones that came in the car. I will still look for some nicer sportier ones that match the interior but in the mean time I'll be happy to use these. Also the price was right.

I t was $165 plus shipping. Just recently found a site that has it for $108.
1A Auto makes DIY carpet installation for your Ford simple! Free samples. Custom color & material options. 5000+ installation videos plus tutorials. Free shipping!

The carpet I got was nice. It does require trimming around the edges and the shifter, seat belts, etc. I recommend saving your old carpet for a template. As soon as you lay down the carpet you suddenly will forget where everything is under it, that's where saving the old helps

The plastic part under the pedals in my Festiva has a hole worn into it below the clutch pedal. I put a mat over it to save what's left of the plastic.

It feels really weird when I put my foot on the part where the plastic has a hole, slippery and insecure like my foot is resting on a magazine or something loose on the floor. It really unnerved me until I got used to it...

Okay does the new carpet kit cover the back cargo area as well, or do you have to fabricate some carpet to cover it?Thanks
