  • Seat Swap Questions

I'm thinking about putting these seats in the Festiva.

They are from an old Cadillac, I think. Both of them are powered.
What would I have to do in order to get these into the Festiva? Would I just have to swap out the seat frames, or would I have to make the cadillac seat frame fit the Festiva floor?

I'm asking to see how much work I'm going to have to put in, roughly.

    Thanks.

Custom mounts would be the easiest way. Either way, custom seats are a lot of work.

Those are probably too wide to fit well in a Festy. Measure 'em before proceeding.

Very likely a 'pipe dream' but first off measure the width of these seats to see how badly they would interfere with operation of the handbrake and/or closing of the doors. After that it is simply (?) a question of adapting rails and floor mounts; that is if you don't care about getting easy access into the back of the car.
I do have to admit that settling into a set a luxurious Caddy leather seats would certainly distract me from thinking I was driving a 20 year old econobox. With seats like that in place I'd probably be looking for spongy springs, power steering, auto shift and a first class sound system too!

Why do old seats always sag towards the center like that? That's always bothered me.

I am positive that I can install a set of ANY early-to-mid 90's Honda-style seats into a Festiva within 2 hours. It retains all of the festy seat guts, so the result is a seamless, flawless OEM install.

B/c you lean inward when you need to get something out of the back while driving... OR most GM seats look like that after a while... OR it came from a car of two fat kids! :0)
