Tried searching but can't seem to find any threads on power window installs, looking for locally sourced parts that would work in 1988-93 Festiva's that would not require too much modification. Had some issues with my manual windows but seem to have that resolved using amourall but found some really nice side pockets from an early 1990's 626 but trying to install them requires my having power windows. So was hoping to find some threads by anyone who had done the mod. Thanks

Power Window Install?

Next time put double quotes around your phrase "power window", otherwise it will search for both words separately instead of together.
Try thread 16514.
No local power window regulators. They were standard on Prides sold in Europe.
Bolt in except for the addition of a relay. Europe had manual seat belts. So you would have to keep the wiring for that.Last edited by bravekozak; 03-05-2013, 11:50 AM.

I tried to fix the kinked wire by taking the Mazda power regulator apart. You need support fixtures to reinstall covers correctly. I have seen complete regulators sold on eBay Germany for $1. You would only have to deal with the shipping costs. Sea mail would take two months to arrive. It's air mail that hurts.
You need the door wiring harnesses too. It's not worth the headache to rewire or adapt an MPV, 626 or RX7 door harness. I am writing this assuming you are getting the long Pride door handles with the window switches. Other Mazda switches are slightly larger and don't fit.Last edited by bravekozak; 03-05-2013, 12:27 PM.

The bar napkin plan is to remove the manual winder and transplant the cables into an escort/protege power window motor.-Zack

You will end up in the same situation I am in. That is why I am making new vapor barriers. The primary reason is to plug up that hole where the armstrong winder handle once was.
I still haven't found the right plug for the card yet. Let me know if you come across something that fills the hole snugly and looks half decent. I really appreciate input from my fellow members.
In Germany they are called fensterheber.
The easier install would be to install the switches centrally in the German cubby instead of the door handles.Last edited by bravekozak; 03-05-2013, 04:52 PM.

I found a universal power window kit similar to cTc's in the latest Mighty Car Mods episode. http://www.rapidelectronics.com.au/p...r-windows.html
$125 Australian plus shipping. I haven't check in the US yet but I will report back if I find something.
*Edit* BINGO! http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNIVERSAL-2-...c45c6b&vxp=mtr
And a links to MCM's video on how to install them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1AxO6Bt-kkLast edited by gergorian; 03-18-2013, 11:57 PM.

I'm curious what these universal sets look like when the door card is reinstalled.

Um, the door card. I hope you don't have to leave it off with all the metal and power window stuff exposed!
