  • DIY. cheap taillight upgrade.

So today I decided to do some cheap (nearly free) modifications to my stock taillights. I simply taped off the ribs and painted them with flat black spray paint. I like the different look and the fact it that it is free is even better. The pictures should explain everything if they don't just ask me. Thanks.

That does look nice. I suppose you could do body color too.

        Thanks!

I suppose you could use the plasti dip paint so if you don't like it, peel it off!

                Nice setup. Kinda off-roadish.

Did the same thing to my old lights, but I just used a paint pen instead of taping and spraying.

                          Re: DIY. cheap taillight upgrade.

We need to start a thread on free or cheap mods for.our cars. One thread for everything, interior, exterior, motor. Etc. I know we have a customization thread but I wanna see one the average Joe like me can afford. What do y'all think?

                            Start it!!

It could include paint and trim, taking apart the seats to clean the fabric, taking out the carpet for same, etc. Also, the "keep your shifter from dropping" mod and shifter bushing repair and so forth.

Making your own package shelf cover. Getting your front corners to flash alternate with the turn signals (just a wiring job as I understand it).

Stuff like that. Stuff newbies might not think about or perhaps be afraid to do unless they're shown the way. Lemme tell you, taking the carpet out and washing it down can make a huge difference in the appearance and feel (let alone the smell) of the car.
