Anybody else's struts already wearing out? I have 2 on mine, and they barely have any spring left. They will hold the hood up, but will not raise it anymore. When new they would pop it up hard from probably 6" off closed.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

Mine are still fine, but only a year old. How long have yours been on the car?

The ones on Nellie were installed over 3 years and 8 thousand miles ago and they still work like they did when I installed them.
They were the first ones that I bought and are Stabulis. The other 3 Festivas that I put them on since then are other brands but they are
still working ok. Over time they all will fail at some point.. I suspect the number of times they are opened and closed determines how long they will last. I'm sure temperature variances has something to do with it too.

Mine have been on since around December of 2014. Barely used too. It's weird.

I was there the day your car got it. Jerry,"Team Lightning", took one of his off "Blue Thunder" and put it on "Barbie Car". Some more back story on your car, lol.

For me, this mod may be in a tie with the Escort dome/map light for "most useful". Shortly after 1990new's post about this a couple of years back, I put 2 45# struts( just the right ones IMO) on my car, and later moved them to my daughters. When I reordered for my car again, I couldn't remember the rating and got 60#( too much, I think, as it makes the hood rise as if automatic when the latch is released), but when I got the third car I used one each of the 60#'s and those work fine for singles, just not as cool looking, again IMO. As someone said in a post I read, it just makes you want to pop the hood. Not even mentioning the added usefulness when needing to open it while you're holding something, like most of the time.

Here is a good deal on the hood struts ($17.99 for two shipped). I already ordered a set and they fit perfectly.
If anyone needs the ball studs for mounting, I will ship you 4 for $8. Or you can pull your own at the junk yard.

They also have these (Only 3 sets left) which are the same size but have 45lb lifting power instead of 35. They will work fine. (The first ones I bought and put on Nellie I believe were 45LB ones)

3 sets of my ball studs are gone but I have 2 sets left.
