I saw this on the tube today. Do you think it would be possible to angle a couple of LEDs at the ends to light up the recess? Is there such a thing as a flat LED bulb?
You can get some of those flat sticky led strips from autozone and run them in through the gap that exists in the door handle. I'd say unless you have power locks you're gonna have to wire them into the markers (or maybe turn signals for stealthy turning side blinkers) But you'll have to run lots of small gauge wire.
It can be done But you're looking at lots of wiring IMO to do it

Also if you do them as markers or blinkers make sure they're amber (or check with your DOT) to see that they're legal and not "a distraction to driver's"
Don't wanna waste the money if they aren't legal.
You could also wire them into the interior lights so they turn on when the door is open like your dome lights

Does anyone know if I cut the longer ones, will they still work? What are those funny marks on the strips? Is that where you can cut them?
I have seen long strips where one LED doesn't work in the middle, but all the rest work.
Super Expensive warm white waterproof LED strips-non.
I want warm white single LEDs to glue on either side of the metal door handle bracket. The hand always grabs in the middle. There isn't much room, and I don't want to feel an LED strip.
It would be a bit of work, but if you installed an alarm and used an adjustable 12v DC timer relay to the door handle lights, it wouldn't be too terribly difficult, just a bit of wiring. You could even run the power from the timer relay to the running lights, so the lights would stay on for a few seconds until you got in the car and have it wired up so that if started the car before the timer relay turned off, it would kill power to lights. Heck, there is probably an aftermarket alarm that already does that.
