Only RHD have them? From what I understand there is a molded catch all, two drink holders and a box under the clock. In that box is that storage for more drinks near the a/c lines? Or do the ac lines just run really close to the exposed molded in part above the glove box? I was thikning of doing some poorman version by cutting a huge hole under my clock, and attempting the below radio cubby in there even if its exposed, and not cooled. BTW my dash is thrashed, I need to install my a/c, i need a heater core, and, id not cry to cut it up. The factory ducting is right under it but you can always trim down a cubby not as tall and then glue the top part so the interior actually looks factory as its the same plastic texture, not that I care too much as grey plastic turns tan and the tan plastic turns greyish yellow on these things. Searching is not giving me much. Google searching for "drink cooler JDM festiva" gave me some cars with red rims and young cleavage, which is cool but no dash pictures.

Why not just install a Kamei refrigerated armrest?
I would have, if it wasn't quite so expensive.Last edited by bravekozak; 08-07-2013, 02:29 PM.

After checking out the various AC threads I could see what the thread pitches and fitting s are. u're connecting lines and I don't see why you cannot throw a y connector in there and move in AC line wherever you want.1993 GL 5 speed

as many brochures I have of festiva/pride/121 from many countries, the only ones that show the "cool bin" are the upper trim level festivas in the Japanese market. as seen, it is a plastic bin about 3-4 inches deep with an insulated hinged lid that closes and opens with a spring catch. I have one of these in the JDM canvas top I have. it only cools when the A/C is running. there are slots on the back wall that the air blows out of. i'd assume there is a small plenim behind these slots that is ducted off of the A/C cabin duct. it looks too small for American size pop (soda) cans though. someday i'll get around to disassembling the car and i'll know exactly how it's set up.

Yeah...so simple its complicated. Hm. Just trying to throw out ideas with what we have stateside in arms reach as it were. In your last pic the door and ninge isnt part of the box. A mazda protege console cubby has a door, but it\s part of the cubby assembly. Id buy that, make it half as deep and go from there if i was super serious. Now I just broke the thermostat housing so i cant stare out at my dash as I drive and daydream, I have spent an hour tonight searching for the best plan of action to get back on the road w/o inconveniencing everyone around meLast edited by getnpsi; 08-09-2013, 12:03 AM.1993 GL 5 speed

F3BZ, if it's detachable, could you go and look at a cost for having this vacuum moulded..?
at the end of the day, it looks easy enough and not too sure on cost but if you could see your way to doing it, that would be cool.. also what about having the drink holder moulded as well?
i have a RHD car and these accessories would look great in my car.Last edited by jawbraeka; 09-11-2013, 06:08 AM.Ford Festiva 1991 WA Model (5 Door)

So in the heat of summer i dont see the cup holders doing more than holding a cup so it doesn't rollaround under the seat until youre home. Since this dash is split and cracked im going to butcher it test fitting something, then glass over it, possibly get it dmooth and doing a carbon fiber wrap on top of it. I get impatient so wrapping some hastened work would be fine by me, end result is the same really. Anyone can cut two holes, add some ebay lighted holders and glue them in hardwired. I still wanna see a coolerbiin ripoff or kit made from other car parts. Oh yeah on left side of dash you can cut there and add a catchall cubby too. Lots of interiors have them, doesn't appear hard as long as they are shallow and do not bottom out on vent ducting, not that it has to stay original either!1993 GL 5 speed

following the diagrams here, maybe two dashtrays (top cut off one and bottom cut from the other) are glued together and a holder on each side which allows the vents to sit close to the box to allow airflow to move around... then vents are customized for each side to allow airflow to move in and through the box itself.
as for a lid, i'm not sure, maybe.. finding a slimline portable esky with a hinge setup that could be grafted to the back side of the dashtray to allow the cold air to be trapped in there and move about and through the venting..
F3BZ, please let us know as soon as you can, no pressure mate.. i'd really be interested in how this thing works.. check your PM's too as i have left some information for you..
also found these too.. http://www.hawaiiansunproducts.com/juices.html.. can't seem to find the drink flavours that were in the actual cooler though, unless the marketing crew thought it to be time to update..Last edited by jawbraeka; 09-18-2013, 08:30 PM.Ford Festiva 1991 WA Model (5 Door)

found a page that actually gives part numbers with an approximate price too.
the dash cooler box unit (the addon for the ducting) works out to be approximately $53.00 AU
as for the rest of the parts, go crazy on this page and find a VIN to find the exact parts..
http://partsfan.com/mazda/us/searchframe/DA3PF-260676 for example.
this lists parts and all that as well as approximate price, but to clarify, there is no shop as such but a contact area, so maybe just enquire about the price for shipping and maybe (fingers crossed and touch wood at the same time, while hopping in circles, whilst whistling dixie and counting pi and doing 3 backflips) there will be some salvation for our woes..Ford Festiva 1991 WA Model (5 Door)
