  • Pulling the dash... HELP!!!

hey everyone... on my 92 mice got into the car and i wanted to pull the dash so i could clean it and also to check for broken or chewed wires but i am having problems pulling it. one of my problems is the gauges. i removed all the screws that hold it in but it doesnt seem to want to pull out so i can disconnect it. also have problems getting the temperature control out of the dash. does anyone know of a thread that shows how to do either of these things. thanks everyone for the help

you need to disconnect the speedo cable from the trans and that will allow you to pull the gauge cluster and get to the harness

Kinda helps if you push the speedo cable into the firewall a little after disconnecting. safer that way than pulling from the cluster.

Disconnect the harness at each end of the dash. and make sure to remove heater core hoses too. pretty straight forward task. have fun

Be careful when you remove the two connectors off of the back of the gage cluster. Don't break the retainer clips.
