  • The glove boxes arent even the same are they, older v newer

I have a grey 1989 glove box that i wrapped in ebay carbon fiber to stick into my 1993. The latches aren't the same! It still closes, holes line up etc. but it is not a snug perfect fit. I keep finding these lame things that i have never read about. No worries i have a second 1993 festiva that is the same exterior color even, I'm just generally annoyed. If you need a glove box door always try to match your year for peace of mind. Again it still works, but the early boxes have a much more simple latch like less spring and it doesn't have the same bulge in the plastic either.

    Interesting!

My tan '89 ash tray seems to fit really loose in my grey '91. Maybe there is a slight difference in some dash parts.

I noticed something similar the other day. A lot of 'extra' parts don't fully swap on carb vs efi cars.

Personally, though I know it's supposed to be the same car, I think the 88-89 interior is much more streamlined.

Lots of parts are different. I knew the gloveboxes were, but never heard the ashtrays were. Interesting

The ashtray fits but it's just a looser fit. Could be a difference in the bracket instead. Or both.
