  • kia avella instrument cluster question

    Hey y'all.

    I was poking around online.
    And I was wondering.

A kia/Hyundai avella instrument cluster should be compatable with the ford aspire correct?
    But the other question is.
It would have to be in kilometers per hour?

Would there be any other drawbacks.
And would it still be worth it to get one with the rpm gauge even though I'm in America with mph as posted limits?
I do have a scanguage II that shows me my mph.
Also would it maybe be possible to have a new template made or possibly an old mph face from a used cluster with mph and swap them?

America is one of the last holdouts to metrification. Almost the entire world is metric. The car companies went metric. Thanks your government. They will force Obamacare on you but not the metric system starting in schools.

I remember when we were buying coils of steel, and politely asking that the weight in Kilos be on the barcode label. We were told to go and buy the steel somewhere else. You probably heard that Canada just signed a free trade deal with the European Union.

Remember when the Mars probe crashed? It could have been avoided.

rmoltis, the speed limit on most highways in Canada is 100 km/hr. I am certain that they would put up the same signs in America if you ever went metric.

one kilo is equivalent to 2.2046 pounds
water freezes at 0C and boils at 100C

Today's temperature in Toronto was 15C. Light sweater needed. You guys should have seen the tall blond in a mini yesterday morning at the Marathon. It was about the same temperature, but I know for certain that she was HOT.

We are all creatures of habit and I too remember grumbling when Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau foisted Celsius temperatures, Litre volumes and Kilometer speeds on us Canucks in around 1977. However once you get used to Metric you will never have any desire to go back. Metric is based entirely on the properties of water: mass/volume/measure. 1 gram = 1 mm x 1 mm = 1 ml. You can't get much simpler than that!

And the units are SOOOOO easy to convert. I HATE the system we use.

Less memorization and more logic just makes sense.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

I'm also interested in seeing if these will bolt up to an Aspire.

I wonder if the Capri cluster would fit in an Aspire? They look to be fairly close in measurements. Sounds like a JY investigation.....
