  • intermittent wipers finally installed

here's a pics of my wiper/light assembly finally installed.

it's nice to actually have a wiper arm. mine was busted off years ago and since then i've been using a little knob below the lights arm.

my interior is pretty dirty as you can see but i've been waiting until i did this to clean it. on another note, she has almost 6,000 less miles on her now....

i was wondering if anyone knows what the wires w/ the white end are for on this? the new one didn't have it. it had a place to hold the thing but it didn't plug into anything.

i have to say though, these two mods were very easy. anyone thinking about doing it should. i'm a beginner working on cars and had no trouble. except for breaking my clear cover.

      Excellent!

Have you discovered the Variable Intermittent wipers yet?

They are much better than the basic Intermittent Wipers.

i haven't. what years is it from? maybe that's my problem. my marking lights don't work w/ this assembly. temporarily i have my old light arm attached to the wire i talk about at the bottom of the link and it's just hanging or rather wrapped around the steering column. i posted this a while ago and it seems nobody has ran into this before. any help is greatly appreciated. i was thinking of mounting another defroster switch on the left and wiring it into the parking lights.

        thanks,
        adam

The variable intermittent wipers came off of Mazda 626s.

I found out that the turn signal assemblies between the '80s and '90s models are different. The light switch on the '90s Festivas has a wire going from it and the older ones do not - it's an entirely different setup.

I just left the white stalk on there and replaced everything else with the yellow parts from my '88LX. It's a lot easier than messing around with the car's wiring.
