  • Rx7 security light

As far as I know from the picture it looks like it would pop into one of our slots on the dash now how would we go about using something that is already in the car to make it light up with the doors closed without installing an alarm system? I could install alarm systems some cheap ones are under $50 and actually include power locks... has anyone done this one yet kind of talking to you brave

There are security lights by themselves for sale but I lost that link here is one with the mirror switch one stop shop

I have the security light. I was going to use it as a choke light, but I changed my mind and decided to use the check engine light instead, since I don't have a computer. I moved the security light to my Pride console and used the slot for a power antenna switch.
The Viper security system uses tiny LEDs. I don't know if you could adapt a relay to turn on the security light bulb instead. Since every slot is occupied in my Festiva, I still want the Razo shift pattern because I don't have one on my knob. I am just not willing to pay the eBay seller's price. I would rather give the money to some needy orphans instead.
It would be easy to wire the security light to come on when the doors are shut, but it would probably be better if it was manually controlled with a switch. Even better linked to an alarm system.
You want the lights to blink and the horn to honk if someone opens your door without using a wireless unlock to first disable the alarm.

A normally open switch would work to at least make it solid on. You can open it up and make it an led inside i assume too. Add two relays and a few splices and you have a whole alarm system. Well no hurry those lights seem cheap on ebay which means half the rx7s in junkyards must still have them

Ha. I have that same RX-7 cruise switch.. thinking of wiring it to a very loud secondary horn, kind of a redneck cruise. People in front going too slow? Turn on the 'cruise control'.

Most horns are wired to a momentary switch. Are you sure that you want to lock it on? Even my bull horn works against a spring.

I want my high beams to come on with horn. That one seems simple and useful.

Yup! I drive through flocks of birds very often (wildlife park is close by), so having to hold the horn, brake, shift, and steer all at the same time can become dangerous. All while screaming obscenities at the birds.
