Dash Install

Hey everyone. I've got a 92 festiva L. I took the dash out of the car so I could clean behind it due to rats. I'm getting ready to reinstall it but I was wondering if there is any upgrades or preventative maintenance that I could do before I put everything back in. That's for the help in advance

Absolutely! Take a good look at your heater core given there's no cabin air filter installed on a Festiva. Shouldn't be too tough to get the unit out now that you have the dash out... but you'll have to drain your coolant so you can pull the heater core itself. There are a number of good posts on how to do it, particularly by member and friend BraveKozak.

New heater core is already bought and ready to go in. That was the first thing I bought lol

just curious, what was so enticing to rats behind the dash? wiring? firewall insulation? cheez puffs in the defrost vents?

Firewall insulation.. I took a quick look over the wires... None of them look chewed

Gotta do this myself when it comes time to install A/C and remove/replace some rotted out dash ducting. Just curious, how big of a pain is it to pull the old dash out?
