  • 90 Festiva Door Panel Recovering Ideas

Hello the famous thin interior door panel is ripped were the inside handle is torn on all the salvage cars. Looking for excellent ideas on recovering both doors panels. I try anything once.

P.S Note as new owner: 250 lb, 5ft 5", bald guy driving a Festiva many are laughing. Pulled up beside a female city cop today we drag from light to light. 2 gear wound out to keep up with her crown victoria she laughed.

i know this isn't what you meant but someday i'm going to try aluminum sheet metal. break up the flatness with some full width beading or maybe get creative with some other texturing like "engine turned" swirls. cut out for the door handle and window crank and glue enough thin magnets on the back of it so it just sticks to the door stamping.

I had these door panels made at my local Upholstery shop for my car Blue Lightning.

They could have cut the new boards but I already had them cut out of board that I had bought. It was about 50-60 for them to cover them. They also covered my seats so the door panels and hatch panel were covered to match my seats.

I am considering thin diamond plate with the edges rounded off. Thoughts?

They were covered in vinyl. Here are the seats. I did the fronts only for Lightning. (No rear seat will be used in it.)

I am considering surplus discounted carbon fiber panels covered in black leather. No window crank or map pocket holes.

I covered the stock panel and map pocket with fleece, I also made an accent panel out of wood and covered that. I still have to cut holes for the window crank and latch. I'm not sure if I like the fleece or not.
