  • Height adjustable headlights

    Hey.

I know of a kia model that has electronically adjustable headlights.. But I don't know the year.

Can anyone please let me know.

The switches are available in germany as well as the philipines too.

Can anyone tell me what model they came from?

    Thanks.

by kia model you mean the pride? i'm just going by the standard equipment list in a UK sales brochure but even the base pride was supposed to be equipped with HLLD lights from 99 on. i think this might've been a gov't requirement. the seller should be able to tell you. if it's from germany, it will usually be stated as "w/stellmotor". mazda 121 DB leveling switch will fit in a festiva switch hole if you have a hard time finding one from a DA or pride. unfortunately, the motorized lights and switch are no longer available new from 4G

Thanks man.. Very good info and thanks for chasing that up for me..

In regards to a kia model.. Yes I was referring to a kia pride. I do believe it's from the kia pride || from further research. As far as I'm aware, it was a 95-99.

if anyone would know about these, I was thinking it'd be you answering this. You have a fairly good knowledge about this.

I will presume to think that it wont support a regular grille and spacer upgrades will be a requirement for me to fit them to the festiva as well as possibly the corner lights too.

i dunno about the pride lights but the 121 light buckets will bolt to the same holes in the festiva radiator support. except that i'd have to cut some metal out for the motor to clear. here is a pic of the 121/pride support. you can see the headlight cutouts are much different than the oval cutouts in the festiva support. i am trying to get one of these because i think it will also have the correct mounting hole placement for the 2 piece 121 bumper as well as the lights. being in AU, you should be able to cut this style support out of any 121 down there.

and here's a pic of the pride lights with motors. you can see why you need the extra cutout in the rad support.

and here is the pride wiring diagrams for these. i know it's in german but hey, wire is wire. the first page just shows the power for the motors comes off the rear fog lamp fuse. follow 34 circuit onto the next diagram. there's the LH/RH hoheneinstellmotors. the schalter (switch) is a push on/push off rotary with 4 positions, 0,1,2,3 and an indicator light. it's the same switch as used on the 121 DA. the 121 DB switch is an unlit thumbwheel type but it should still work. also has 0,1,2,3 positions.

              Awesome info.. Thankyou heaps.

I'll look into this later on.. Something I think that should have been done on the festiva originally.

Don't mean to be a pain either.. Could I please get a picture of the front of the lights too to give an idea of the style too.

Here is the image that I've found of the kia pride 88-91 (however I've only seen 88-89) polish version of the headlights..

The ones you were talking about look like they were the newer pointier ones possibly the newer 90-94 DB model.

I also found these too which I believe this would be the suitable support due to the motor sitting at the bottom of the light and the fact that shape is a u shaped, squarish shaped very similar to the motor.

Was lucky enough to find a part number too.

If a supplier can be found, then options can be added.

Do you happen to know the parts numbers for the da model lights.. I'm up for a goose chase anytime.

you're cornfusing me. you labeled the above headlight pic as a kia pride light. that's a 88/89 mazda 121 assembly. early prides did have sharp egded headlamps and the later ones had the more rounded look. the 121 has a noticable angled cut at the top inboard side of the light. the 121 lens were glass whereas i believe the prides, at least the later ones, were plastic. also the motors between pride and 121 adjustable lights are completely different. the last pic doesn't look like the the rad support for a 121 even though it has a DA part#. you can get a correct reproduction support from a supplier in italy. i have one coming. about $300 with shipping but it will make installation of the 121 lamps and 2- piece bumper easier to install and a more faithful clone. sorry, i don't have #s for the complete motorized 121 lamps.

Sorry bud my bad.. They were Mazda 121..

The support as far as I can tell is a Mazda and everything that I can tell is Mazda not KIA.

I found them on allegro listed under 121 on a search.
