  • Rativa's Interior Build

I'm redoing the interior on my 88 LX. Sound Dampening while I'm at. Redoing all my panels etc. New Carpet. Cut the new panels tonight. Here are some pics.

Still have to go back and straighten some lines and do some sanding to get the panels ready. Then I will be wrapping them in two tone black. Plus I will be doing a video on how to rebuild your own panels.

I intend to do something similar. I want to start with cosmetically imperfect carbon fiber panels.

Nice post, I'm planning to do something similar to my Kia Pride, want to soundproof it as soon as possible but I have a limited budget. Looking forward for that video!

You should definitely watch this post then. I am sound deadening my car a unconventional way. I have been scouring the junkyards for different sound deadening options and have found some good candidates. Should make a big difference.

Since I can't dive in completely until we do the shell swap due to a rust issue so i don't want to do all the work and then have to redo it so I am just testing different materials and test fitting them to the car so that they will be ready to install once i get the shell swap done. Some pics.

Some Dynamat that was pulled from the junkyard. I have found several different cars that have it from the factory.

Vinyl Sound Barrier that I pulled from the junkyard as well.
Just test fitting it. Its just sitting there for the picture.

Then for the rear hatch I filled the hollow space with different foam options found in the rear of various cars. The hatch will also have dynamat and a foam MLV Barrier as well.

I wish you would have taken your Sony Walkman and made a recording of the road noise before and after the Dynamat job.

                          Any updates?
I found a source for Cld tiles.
the inside of Ford truck doors 97-04 f150.
                          Have 2 about 8 inch by 12.
And mid to late 90's grand prix have felt tape around the wires in the door panels and can be reused.
