If you decide you don't want it, let me know it would be easy to make that style of grill into an adjustable grill block.

Good idea, i like the look and what you did, if I can find one of those grills I would remove the Ford badge, sit it off to the side. Next grab a router and cut in the same amount of slots on the other side facing the opposite direction, now re mount the Ford badge in the upper center, should be room.

Ok now that I have seen what an original GT grill looks like, my idea would not work. congrats yours looks nice, keep experimenting.

You did a really nice job on this. Whether your car can breathe or not after all this is whole other matter. There are true-northern folks that would likely benefit from a grill like this and if heater core issues ever got resolved this also might help. Ford Pintos were lousy for providing cabin heat at -30 and Festys were no better.

Breathing is not an issue, the slots are in front of the radiator. And it also get air through the lower part of the bumper.

I like some of the parts (obvious by my car) but I am a ford guy and would have never bought one of these cars if it wasn't labeled Ford! x2

That makes no sense. The only thing Ford on it is the badging. It's not a Ford, no matter who sold it.

But to each his own, I guess.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

At this time in history didn't Ford own 50 percent of Mazda?

I think the point was the fact it had a Ford badge is what allowed his mind to entertain the idea of owning one. When I bought my first one, I would have drove past the lot had it been a Chevrolet Festiva. At the time I had no clue it was actually made by Kia using Mazda parts and I would venture a guess that everyone here had the same experience in the beginning.

Yeah, I never knew about it either till I joined this site. I guess my brain just doesn't work that way. I could care less who makes the car. I look at each car as a thing all by itself.

Yep, I had no clue, went to the lot with an Escort in mind, ended up with a Festiva. Went to the Ford lot cause I was (am) a Ford guy. These cars have also made me learn to love Mazda...
