  • Festiva Door Buzzer

I am wondering why the buzzer doesnt come on when i turn the ignition on with the door open, any suggestions?
    I have a 91 Ford Festiva L

Does your dome lamp turn on?
If so, then replace your timer/buzzer with another one from the junkyard.
If not, then clean your grounds on the door switches.

Yeah, my buzzer works on and off, it always has.

Couldn't care less though, it is quite a irritating buzzer anyway. Wish we could swap for a better sounding one, but I have a feeling all the ones that would fit the festys would be from mazdas, and would all sound the same.

It is possible to install a nice chime from a Caddy or Lexus. Let me investigate the possibilities.

How about a good old voice annunciator, instead?

A friend of mine used to own an 80′s era 280Z with “the voice”. We always made fun of him because the car always told him the door was a jar. For which we would promptly reply, it’s not a jar, its a door!? We were kids.

I had a Nissan maxima that would kindly remind me with some of the following warnings. Keys are in the ignition. Lights are on. The door is ajar.

If a caddy chime won't plug into your existing plug socket, make up some 'jumper cables' from your Festiva plug socket to the Caddy chime. YES?
