It is a single DIN, exactly the same size as a Festiva radio.
A double DIN is what all of the new GPS/radio/console units are nowadays.

Looks a lot like the Ford Tauras cup holder
If it don't fit, use a bigger hammer!

That's actually a single din unit and it will probably fit better than the Taurus holders. And for the money it might just be worth a try.

If it is a din sized cup holder it will fit in the box but you will have to cut it pretty good. It will not take up the entire box either. I was thinking about putting it into the radio slot.

But if I put the stereo into the box below it'd be hard as crap to change without knocking it out of gear.

Also, I didnt realize that box wasnt a separate piece :/

SWRT, why don't you wait with me for Rocketman to make that cast aluminum drink holder bracket?
I've already given him the prototype + a little incentive.
It will hold a bigger gulp than that eBay one. I've checked to make sure it doesn't interfere with the shifter.

At $11 shipped we can't go wrong. I think you have a nice find here SWRT. Let us know how it goes. I'm 2nd in line to buy one if you can confirm with pics of it fitting into the radio opening. Don't have to install it, just set it in there and that will be good enough for me.

I'm waiting on the bigger gulp carrier too...

So I got to looking at it. Pretty confident I'll have to drill some holes in the side of the box
considering it's all one piece. I thought that box was a insert, but it's actually a single piece
with a useless "seam" built into it.

Look again. It should have an insert!

                        Will do I looked at it, but I don't have a dome light in my car...pretty sure it's broken;
and it was pretty dark out. If that thing pulls out I'll be freakin ecstatic

It doesnt pull out. It should be screwed from in behind, with two brackets.

Which one do you have in this picture?

Remove the cubby and take a look from behind.

There's a lot. Mine unscrewed from the side. Definitely a single, molded unit
like the one on the far left. I figure I'll just drill holes through the sides big
enough to fit a screwdriver if I have to. May have to dremel out some of the
back end as it looks like it narrows the further you get towards the back.

The ebay listing for this piece, which ships from China is 175mm(L)x 125mm(W)x 45mm(H). I went ahead and converted which comes to 6.88"(L)x 4.92"(w) x 1.77"(h). Just do some measuring to confirm.
