  • Fiberglassing and sideskirt madness!

    So im about to cut and shape the sideskirt for the left side.. and when it arrives do some fiberglass reapair..

    Firstly anyone have pointers I have watched a fair few videos on the topic tho so I should be fine.. secondly anyone want me to take a bunch of pictures of my attempts as a chance to learn..

    Im not to sure how many people have modified sideskirts. these came from a 4dr mazda famila.. and now there on a 2 door

            I put tape on it and painted it black to guage an idea of how the finished product would look.. I have tried my hardest to make em match on both sides.. but this sideskirt modification is a lot harder then I thought.. it just looks odd and the fact I want the car to eventually make it onto the front page of NZPC (they would consider it if I can make it a. something no one has ever done and b. if it has mad power figures

            Cutting the sideskirts to fit was difficult.. I managed to do it with a hacksaw.. and file to clean it up a little..

            Not in this pic its attached with tape.. it works and there not falling off on speed bumps.. so there mounted better then the window was..



            When I do fiberglass them up.. Ill get a few pictures of were its cut etc.. I also plan on filling the sideskirts with expanding foam so I can use body fuller to make it one with the paintwork down the line (I hope the guard never has to come off once the cars completed)

            I also start work on the rear caps next week.. just cutting to size
