Push latch can be found in most hardware stores or cabinet hardware stores.
1.) Remove latch from inside fuel compartment. Discard.

2.) With plenty of silicone, place push latch on top of the fuel compartment opening to be out of the way when fueling.
3.) Allow to cure overnight.

Modification to fit?
Depends on what style push latch you find.
Mine was about 2" long. (Width doesn't really matter).
The 'roof' or 'ceiling' of the fuel compartment slants down as it goes toward the back inside.
That's why I chiseled as shown in the sketch to make the upper 'roof' go back 'straight'.
The magnet on the end of the latch holds the door shut.
Works GREAT!
