I have a roll of tint that was lying in the back of the car when we got it. There are no instructions with it, and i don't know what shade it is... all i know is its fairly dark, but not the darkest i've seen. It has some wrinkles and folds in it, but i don't think they'll show once it’s on the window. It *looks* to me as if their mostly noticeable in the backing, and not in the film itself... what do you think is the film possibly damaged?
I'm going to just be doing the back three windows. I don't want to mess with removing the rear window. Will i just need to put like 6" strips horizontally working from the bottom to the top, or is it better to do it as one piece for the rear? I read somewhere about using a heat gun to 'shrink' the tint to the window, sounds possibly problematic to me.
As far as the side windows go they look fairly easy to remove to me, just 3 bolts. With someone’s help they should come out in a few minutes, but how is the gasket held on? should i just leave it on the window when i apply the tint and cut the tint as closely as possible to edge or remove it and put the tint over the whole surface of the window and re-apply the gasket afterwards?
I think thats about it so far as questions go. i read http://s-series.org/Sections-article55-p1.html and http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/cda/ar...-PRINT,00.html about DIY tinting, basically baby shampoo, distilled water, and a squeegee are all that is needed.
Thanks a ton! i plan on doing this next week if things work out... i'll post pics afterwards [/url]
