  • Why you should search for an 88 Nissan Sentra in the junk yard

Here are pictures of the stainless steel wiper arms that I pulled from a 1988 Nissan Sentra at LKQ on Wednesday.
The Sentra was in beautiful conditions inside and out. A shame to see a car like that in the junk yard.
I used adhesive stripper to remove the black paint. It works great. They came out really shiny without buffing.
I will be installing these on Trixie later today.

Yes but I've never heard anyone say that rust is beautiful.
If I get too much glare I may paint these matte black.

A couple of issues with the install:
The shaft on the Festiva seems to be a bit larger than on the Nissan because I could not get the nuts to tighten all the way down.
I used the nuts from the Sentra because they were a little thinner.
Also the nut cover for the nuts needs to be larger for the Sentra arms. The Festiva ones are too small.
The right wiper comes really close to the edge of the windshield so the arms must be just a wee bit longer.

Anyone Know where I can get Sentra wiper arm nut covers to hid the nuts?

Those take the round caps. I believe they are available on the bay.

            Thanks...
I didn't find them on ebay but I can get them at a local Nissan dealer for 1.08 each.
In an earlier photo I saw of your wiper arm it looked like it had a bend at the head, but in this photo I don't see it.
            It looks just like mine.
These arms are heavier duty with a larger spring. Glad I found them.

I'll have to pull these off and paint the attaching arms. I didn't bother before because I though they would have a cap over them like the Festiva does.

Will do.. You can bet I will be checking for 87-90 Nissan Sentras every time I go to the junk yard.
I saw just one arm for sale on ebay for $19. If I find some, you can have them for what they cost me plush shipping though.

I noticed that the Festiva wipers have the same NWB mark that the Nissan ones do. They must be made by the same company.

1990, I took those off and went with the ones with the offset up near the bayonet blade. It is from an older model. I will know for sure sure the next time I revisit Able's yard. Since I am not going to use them, I am going to sell them.

You shouldn't have much trouble selling them. They appear to be getting hard to find.
I think I'll just keep my old arms which are in good shape for "just in case".

I moved the library in photobucket so I lost the pictures of the wipers so here is a link to see them.
