  • Adjustable steering column

I have a '92 GL. The underside of the dash below the steering wheel looks like it might be able to have an adjustable steering column. The truck I drive now has one and I really like it. If the Festiva had one what other make might fit? THanks.

You can find the tilt columns in 88-89 LX Festivas and in the old style Mercury Tracer

dj is right. i saw a tilt column in a junkyard and it really did not move up or down that much and not worth the trouble taking it out and installing it

Also the dash is slightly different in the tilt colum cars, the cut out for the column. I took the dash from a tilt colum car and put it in a car with a fixed column and had to modify the steering column trim pieces.

i was surprised when i saw this option on a 88lx. never thought a festiva would need a tilt column. pretty much useless imo. unless you were really, really short. my gf is just over 5 foot and can see fine over the steering wheel fine. it's amazing how many options were available for festivas that you'd never think of unless you saw it.
