Here are a few more pics of my escort console installed. I first posted one a while back, but it was tiny. The console was out of the car for a while cause I was working on the e-brake and stuff, but its back in now, minus the stock festiva glovebox thingy. I decided to remove that cause once I finally got it to fit, it was tilted too far forward to be effective. I'm going to build some kind of box to go there, but finishing my 140MPH cluster w/tach comes first. Here's how it looks right now.

i attached the box to the console. it works fine. i lost the cup holders by doing that, but they wont hold a big cup anyway. i dont have a camera now to take a pic of it though."We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals." -Mohandas Gandhi

I refused to lose the cupholders (that and the shift boot are the main reasons I did the swap). The console originally had a kind of little indention in front of where the cupholders are, like for keeping change in and stuff, but I cut that out trying to fit the box. With the cupholders there the box just isn't practical because it is tilted too far forward. I'm a carpenter by trade though (just a festy mechanic by obsession ) so I'm going to take out the old router and jigsaw and build up a sexy box to go in there, maybe with a lid with a built-in lcd tv screen if I can get my hands on one, cause that would be fun.No festiva for me ATM...

The paint is duplicolor from advance auto parts... same paint I have on the outside of the car. It stuck pretty good to the console, but not very well to the stock festy box (which I'm not using anyway). I cut out the indention thing in front of the cupholders, but I don't think you'd have to if you were just planning on using the console as-is and not having a glove box kinda thing. Basically just put it in and line it up so that you can shift into all gears easily without bumping into the console (this will pretty much set up where it will have to be mounted. Then drill two holes for the bottom screws that used to hold the box on, and you are set. I'm sure there's plenty more stuff you can do to make it look more at home in the festy and stuff. But for now it serves my purpose (cool shift boot and drink holders) and I don't feel like messing with it anymore till I get some other stuff done that I've been working on.No festiva for me ATM...

So I have a console & the boot and a knob... I also have a hacksaw!
I think I'm going to try a morph of the auto console with shelves & the escort console. I really need those coffee cup holders and I'm going to try to mount my CB at the same time! The console I got is "beigish" and so will be painted black.
Anyone interested in a writeup/pic fest?Mon arme a moi, c'est un stylo.

ebay special I don't think they were ever stock rims... they are dual drilled 4x114.3 and 4x100, so I can keep them after the brake swap. Once I do the swap I may get rid of them and use the 14x5 escort wheels, so keep an eye on the for sale section, I may try and get rid of the ones I have nowNo festiva for me ATM...
