  • cowl cover

I want something to keep the vermin out of my cowl plenum during the winter. I looked on eBay to see how much they wanted for a cowl cover. Too much. I put a lowball offer in for some green colored magnetic sheet. I require a 4" arc to match my lower windshield molding. I will keep everyone posted.

1990new informed me: "The distance is slightly under 12 inches. The drivers and passengers sides are the same length/width.
13 inch long would give you a little more than 1/2 inch on each side and would fit between the wiper holes.
And the slots are a little less than 3 inches long. You would need to allow for the concave curve on the windshield side and the convex curve on the hood side."

Based on the fact that 11" would not be enough to cover, I am buying a roll instead. I will sell whatever I have remaining from ten feet (there should be enough for three more people). I will use a large hole punch (to make a slot for the wiper) and attempt to make a one piece cowl cover. I will post the result when done.

This would be great for anyone parking their vehicle under a tree. You would not believe how many pine needles I had to vacuum out of my plenum after I bought the car on the bay.

I installed my cowl covers today. A 4" width cannot completely cover both sets of louvers. You would need to buy a 5" width roll in order to cut a single long curved piece.
I just cut the curves in the ditch with a utilty knife. No problemo.
