Just got my projectors in the mail. Going to retrofit tonight or tomorrow. They are clones of Morimoto Mini H1 projectors with the high/ low beam cutoff. I already have some clear lenses vacuum formed out of Lexan brand polycarbonate, and no they aren't perfect. I don't get any bubbles in them, but one of them is a little wavy, and the corners aren't quite right. I'm going to be running them for now while I work on making a perfect set and perfecting my technique.

My phone camera stopped working, so that means good news and bad news. The good news is, every picture I post in this thread will be taken in beautiful hd with a DSLR. The bad news is, taking pictures with a camera and uploading them to a computer is annoying, so it might be a little bit before I post some.

After the initial retrofit, I'm going to be working on making some halos and maybe some Audi style LED strips to go along the bottom of the lights. We'll see what happens.

I was expecting them to be kind of garbage, but they seem to have a very solid build quality and the light cut off line is extremely sharp.

The ballasts are only 35 watt, so I may upgrade them later, but the housings are solid metal.

Are these for a civic or did you find projectors for a festiva?

They're for whatever you want to put them in. They're a retrofit projector. You need to modify a stock housing and wiring to use these.

Do you need to use a stock housing. Do they need reflected?

Projectors don't need reflected. The housings are just a thing to hold them. You could, if you really wanted, just cut a plate with a hole in it, and mount it in the headlight location with some kind of adjustability for aiming.

Honestly, I've had proper HID projector headlights with HIDs, and I would not bother now. A good set of bulbs will do you fine unless you just want the novelty. Not hating, just giving some perspective.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

On that point, I have to disagree with you. A good set of bulbs will make the headlights usable, but they will never have the brightness, spread, distance, or focus of a projector setup. LEDs and lasers may be the future, but as it stands if you want to retrofit headlights in an old car to work as well as modern ones, hid projectors and clear lenses are your safest bet.

So these lights you got are the projector lights, with the super fine cutoff on the top.

Oh, yeah, I didn't mean the stock housings are great. Sorry. Projectors are awesome. I just meant HIDs vs good bulbs.

I see how I worded that now. Not what I meant. My fault there.

The projectors have been fully installed for about 24 hours now. Pics asap.

Only ones I could grab today with the crappy front camera that still works. More as soon as I am actually home when its daylight out.
