I built a harness bar too. That way the harnesses are at a safe level. If you secure the shoulder harnesses to the floor you risk spinal compression injury in a collision.

I like that harness bar, would you trust it in a crash though?

^ Looks like it's bolted to the factory seat belt spots.

Yes he would... Knowing Charlie, it's made of chro-moly cage steel.

It's why we insomniacs stock so many materials, never know when you need steel stock or fixings for clam sundaes at 2:30am....

The most frustrating feeling is when your trying to work all night and your missing something. Nobody is open at 3am, your neighbours will be mad if you wake em up and will shoot you if they wake up while your trying to borrow it...

                HAha, yeah, too true!
But even this one horse town, Tucson, has one 24 hour Autozone. Saved my butt a few times!

Custom seat mounting is a pain, the engineering has to be good, so you copy the OEM's closely, but it's time consuming. Charlie spent hours on the seat mounting of our last car,lot of work to get right....

I was looking into buying a cheap welder for 100 bucks but my dad is saying to take it somewhere to have it done by the local pros. maybe thats a good idea since seats are important

Yeah the issue I've seen though is in a side impact they just shear off because of the angle of impact. Those two points are normally connected so I wouldn't know what would happen. A lot of places here don't allow harness bars to be used.

That seems strange to me, as the collected crash data suggests a five point restraint harness utilizing an unreinforced sholder harness bar is much safer than an inertial reel three point or fixed three point restraint system.
We are talking HPDE here as opposed to a race class.
