paint for eng compartment

What paint is on the festy, enamal or laquer? I need to paint my eng compartment before the eng goes in, gonna paint it black, do go enam or laq? Thsnks, GO TIGERS

Do a single stage enamel. You also could do the roll on rustoleum that's documented here on the site.

Thanks, I know you can't put enamal over laquer, but you can put laq orver enamel, correct?

?? Not sure. Sand/scuff the engine bay then just spray a coat of epoxy primer over the existing surface. This should be good enough. Epxoy primer sticks to anything and gives a good surface to apply the color caot to.
