  • I am looking for guidance with making my Festiva a convertible

I want to cut my Festiva roof to make the car into a convertible. At the B pillar I want to put in a roll bar or two and a half inch to 3 inch diameter bar that would go vertical and across where a b-pillar would be located just behind the door. As I normally drive with the backseat fully laid down at the driver's side I plan to make a swing out arm to lift and put my wheelchair in the back of the car. if someone readily knows of threads explaining to make convertible please respond and if you have cut or made your Festiva convertible please reply with guidance or tips as I intend to use the Bodyline from the door window the back windows and rear hatch window as guidance where I would have the body cut. In the Gap space between the body and what would be the lower half of the hatch I plan to fiberglass to mold those together in one piece

I intend to use material to make a convertible roof like an old Jeep Wrangler and cut or shape it to look like a modern convertible Mini Cooper.

    Please help if you can

Like this without the lifted rear.

If a funtop is not good enough, you will be surprised at what you will discover by doing a search for the word convertible.

Can't help you much, only guys i know who cut a roof off a festiva didnt add a top back to it. Look up dawgstrip on youtube and facebook.
Looking up diy tops for jeeps on google will help, as will looking at convertable jeeps and other cars in person.
